Christ is not a King

This year, I just could not preach Christ as a king. Maybe because we’re reading the book edited by Gail Yee in Education for Ministry: “The Hebrew Bible: Feminist and Intersectional Perspectives.” I thought about preaching Christ as a queen, and that didn’t speak Good News to me either.

Here’s what ended up pouring out of my heart and mind and mouth yesterday:
